One becomes a member of any local chapter automatically when one joins the National Audubon Society ("NAS").   Along with other benefits, membership in NAS brings with it a one-year (6 issues) subscription to AUDUBON magazine.   New members also receive a free Audubon backpack.   Your dues include $10 for AUDUBON magazine while the balance goes towards protecting birds, wildlife, and habitat for future generations.
