Field Trip to Coronado Heights.  Bring a picnic supper..

Meet in the parking lot east of McDonald’s at Sunset Plaza(Bdw’y &W.Crawford),

Salina. We will caravan west to Burma Rd and travel south to Coronado Heights Road, just north of Lindsborg, and then west to Coronado Heights in the Smoky Hill Buttes formation

Public Program at Carver Community Center, 315 N. 2nd.Salina. 

Dr. Leslie D. Hannah of Kansas State University Salina will present “Grandmother Spider Steals the Sun:  Cherokee Tales of Reverence for Nature.”

A Cherokee, he is a sought after speaker about all phases of Indian culture. He is passionate about the “vast and vastly understudied field of American Indian literature and culture. His storytelling of Cherokee tales provides great  enjoyment but also insights into nature.
